Water Taxi Socialization

Today’s socialization excursion was a big one for Billie Jean.  Over the bay bridge and to the Embarcadero with the aim of experiencing a crowd and a lot of “odd” sights and sounds.  In true SF fashion, the Embarcadero did not disappoint us!  Countless street cars, delivery vehicles, joggers, cyclists, rickshaws, skateboarders, and other crazy sights abounded.  We went over weird sidewalk ramps that took us over some construction, and saw a ton of kids and homeless folks, and we walked through an outdoor market with many vendors.  We passed buskers, including one with rather ear piercing ‘music’.  Finally, we ventured on to a floating dock.

As we were there, a water taxi showed up and I decided that with Billie’s socialization history and soundness towards novelty (at least so far), we would give it a go.  So off we went in the water taxi from the Ferry Building to Pier 39 to visit the sea lions.  Billie did wonderfully with the very odd sound and movement of the water taxi.  We hit some swells that splashed up and got both of us wet, and though she was certainly quite concerned with the turbulence for that short time period, she recovered quickly (far faster than I did, in fact)!
