With their people, they are loyal, affectionate and fun.\u00a0 At home, they want to be on something soft, and usually, the closer to you the better!\u00a0\u00a0 After sufficient exercise and stimulation, they make fantastic couch buddies for a movie, and are quite happy to warm your bed with you at night if it suits your lifestyle.<\/p>\n
Swissys have a well deserved reputation for being good with children, and bond strongly with their family members and frequent, familiar visitors.<\/p>\n

<\/a>If you decide on this breed, please be fully prepared – the Swissy is not at all<\/span> a Labrador in a colorful coat.\u00a0 This breed is NOT generally pro-social and universally accepting of strangers; nor is it aggressive towards them.\u00a0 Extensive socialization with the breeder and continuing intensively in their new homes between 8 – 12 or 16 weeks of age is a non-negotiable MUST<\/span> for every Swissy.<\/p>\n<\/a>As a working dog, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is incredibly versatile.
