Puppies turn 3 weeks old (photo)

As the puppies turn three weeks old, they begin their socialization period which will last until approximately 12 weeks.  Now is the time to teach them that novelty is normalcy and that all people are wonderful.  Positive experiences with all things, multiple daily changes to their environment and the rehearsal of startle and recovery, will help pave the road for a maximally stress free existence into canine adulthood.

Enjoy the photos of the pups on their third week birthday!

Welcome to the World, Little Ones! (photo)

Mattie has gifted us with four wonderful puppies today – 2 Girls and 2 Boys.  Litter Roland Garros was born this morning by C-section, precisely one year to the day after the Wimbledon Litter.

Many thanks to handsome and wonderful stud dog Hank, Matterhorn’s Jesenice, owned and loved by Joan Mucci & Laurie Carmody.

We are enjoying our little treasures immensely and are so thankful to Michele Slate & Toni Killpatrick for our best girl ever, Mattie, Ramsgate’s Just What the Dr. Ordered.  Mattie is a wonderful mother who is making their first day home very easy.  She wants them with her constantly!

Mattie to have 2nd Litter

We’re proud to announce the forthcoming arrival of Mattie’s second litter on June 7th, 2018.  Litter Roland Garros will be loved and cared for at our home in San Francisco, and will receive the full advantage of socialization all around this dog friendly mecca and beyond.

If you have sent in an application previously, now is an excellent time to let us know you’re still interested and would like to be considered for a puppy.

If you’re just getting in touch, please reach out with questions and submit an application soon!

We will make final decisions on which families our puppies will go to when the puppies are approximately 4-5 weeks old.  Determination of exactly which puppy will end up where will be made the week of August 6th, after we have had a chance to determine personalities and assess future showing/breeding ability.  Puppies will go to their new homes the weekend of August 11th & 12th.

Happy National Puppy Day!

Happy puppy day everyone!!  It’s hard to believe that the Wimbledon litter is 9 1/2 months old now!  Here’s a throwback photo, Billie Jean at 16 weeks.

And here’s Mama Mattie in front with Billie Jean in tow today.

Water Taxi Socialization

Today’s socialization excursion was a big one for Billie Jean.  Over the bay bridge and to the Embarcadero with the aim of experiencing a crowd and a lot of “odd” sights and sounds.  In true SF fashion, the Embarcadero did not disappoint us!  Countless street cars, delivery vehicles, joggers, cyclists, rickshaws, skateboarders, and other crazy sights abounded.  We went over weird sidewalk ramps that took us over some construction, and saw a ton of kids and homeless folks, and we walked through an outdoor market with many vendors.  We passed buskers, including one with rather ear piercing ‘music’.  Finally, we ventured on to a floating dock.

As we were there, a water taxi showed up and I decided that with Billie’s socialization history and soundness towards novelty (at least so far), we would give it a go.  So off we went in the water taxi from the Ferry Building to Pier 39 to visit the sea lions.  Billie did wonderfully with the very odd sound and movement of the water taxi.  We hit some swells that splashed up and got both of us wet, and though she was certainly quite concerned with the turbulence for that short time period, she recovered quickly (far faster than I did, in fact)!

Baxter in Mager-ville (photo)

Congrats, Baxter boy!  You totally scored landing with your new family who already love you to bits.  Please, Baxter, be nice to Oliver.  Just because you’ll be big, doesn’t mean you have to be brash!  Miss you already 🙂
